Glue Dots Favorite things blog hop

Hello friends. Today I'm honored to be a part of the Glue Dots favorite things blog hop. One of my favorite things about Fall are all the traditions. My family and I love to carve jack-o-lanterns, make caramel apples and bake yummy goodies. One of our favorite cookies to make are pumpkin cookies. They are delicious and when my kids were little, they love decorating them with all sorts of candies. Here's the recipe that we have used all these years...
Pumpkin Cookie recipe
*a Libby's pumpkin brand recipe

4 cups unsifted all-purpose flour
2 cups quick or old fashion oats, uncooked
2 tsp. baking soda
2 ts. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups butter or margarine, softened
2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 can (16 oz.) Solid pack pumpkin
1 cup real semi-sweet chocolate morsels
Assorted icings or peanut butter
Assorted candies, raisins or nuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine flour, oats, soda, cinnamon and salt; set aside. Cream butter; gradually add sugars, beating until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla;  mix well. Alternate additions of dry ingredients and pumpkin, mixing well after each addition. Stir in morsels. For each cookie, drop 1/4 cup dough onto lightly greased cookie sheet spread into pumpkin shape using a thin metal spatula. Add a bit more dough to form stem. Bake at 350 degrees, 20-25 mins., until cookies are firm and lightly browned. Remove from cookie sheets, cool on racks. Decorate using icing or peanut butter to affix assorted candies, raisins or nuts.

Yields about 32 large cookies
VARIATION: substitute 1 cup raisins for morsels

*Even without the candy decorations, these cookies are wonderful. And we like cream cheese frosting on this cookies. They taste well together.

Another tradition we love to do is to make these cookies and share them with friends. Here's a cute container project that you can make to package your homemade gifts....

Thinking of you gift boxes
Supplies:
        1” Glue Lines, Glue Dots®
Pop Up,  Glue Dots®
Themed paper and ribbon
Transparency
Stamp for sentiment
Ink
Die cut machine
Button
Twine

Instructions:
1. Cut the boxes from pattern paper using a die cut machine and a cut purchased from the Silhouette store. Cut some maple leaf design from paper as well.

2. I wanted to make three containers so I cut three boxes plus 9 leaves.

3. Cut a circle from the front of the box.

4. Using some Glue Dots Glue lines, adhere a transparency on the inside of the box, over the cut out circle. Assemble the boxes.

5. Stamp the sentiment on paper, trim and ink the edges. Ink the edges of the leaves as well.

6. Adhere the leaves with Glue Dots Pop up adhesive while using Glue Dots Glue lines for the sentiment.

7. Thread some twine to a button, then adhere to the front of the box using some more Glue Dots Pop up adhesive.
8. Place your baked goods inside the box and tie a ribbon on the top to close.

Now here's some more close ups of the box...
